Solace — Christian Journal App

Last updated: June 21, 2026 (rev. 2)

This Privacy Policy explains how Solace ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our application. We built Solace to be a private, personal space for journaling, prayer, and spiritual reflection, and we take that responsibility seriously.

In short: your journal entries, prayers, and personal reflections are stored locally on your device. We do not read, sell, or share the content of your personal entries with anyone.

1. Information We Collect

Solace is designed to minimize the data we collect. Here is what may be collected depending on which features you use:

2. How We Use Information

3. What We Do Not Do

4. Data Storage and Security

Your journal entries, prayers, and most personal content are stored locally on your device using a secured local database. If you choose to enable Google Drive Sync, an encrypted backup copy is created and stored in your own personal Google Drive account, accessible only to you through your own Google credentials.

Communications between the app and our servers (including AI feature requests) are secured using HTTPS encryption and a signed-request verification system to prevent unauthorized access.

5. Third-Party Services

Solace uses the following third-party services to provide certain features:

These providers may process data on servers located outside your country of residence, in accordance with their own privacy and security practices.

6. Spiritual Comfort Feature

Solace includes an AI-assisted "Spiritual Comfort" feature (shown in the App as "Comfort") intended to offer scripture, prayer, and words of encouragement during difficult emotional moments such as fear, grief, anger, loneliness, stress, or anxiety. This feature is a devotional tool only and is not a substitute for professional mental health care, medical advice, counseling, or emergency services, regardless of how it is labeled within the App. If you are in crisis, in danger, or experiencing thoughts of self-harm, please contact a licensed professional, a crisis hotline in your country, or your local emergency services immediately. Conversations with this feature may be temporarily logged on our server for safety, quality, and abuse-prevention purposes, as described in Section 1.

7. Children's Privacy

Solace is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

8. Your Choices and Rights

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
